What is Trigeminal Neuralgia?

Trigeminal Neuralgia? tic douloureux? Face Twitch?

It's a term that most of us have not heard of before.

But apparently, and if you are one of the unlucky ones, it can affect you.

Trigeminal Neuralgia occurs most commonly in the elderlies, and affects women more than men!  But don't kid yourself if young people are not affected.

People who have Muitple sclerosis may be affected too.

Trigeminal Neuralgia is a disorder of the nerve, affecting the Trigeminal Nerve, which controls most of our facial movements such as chewing, producing saliva and face expressions.

Due to the severe pain of Trigeminal Neuralgia, it gives you severe pain or electric shocks in your face, espcially one one side of the face.  Thus your face twitches.

People who suffer from this Trigeminal Neuralgia, often find themselves uncapable to perform their usual daily duties and activities.  As you get older, the attacks are more frequent and more painful.

More or less it takes their freedom away!
